Congrats on going live! Lots of passages from Anna and the French Kiss that I loved but this one stands out: "Will you please tell me you love me? I’m dying here." Etienne is 100% swoon. Good choice for a first post on Swoontini!
Kristen says
One of my favorites is 'French name, English accent, American school. Anna confused.'
I was reading this at school and it was pin drop silent, but when I read this line I giggled!

Awesome giveaway! One of my favourite swoon worthy moment from Anna & The French Kiss is "I'm saying I'm in love with you! I've been in love with you this whole bleeding year!".
Michelle V. (bookche says
One of my favorite authors. The world she created in Anna…the characters. Who hasn't fallen in love with Etienne yet?
My favorite swoony was, "We'll just walk. And we'll keep walking until the rest of the world ceases to exist." pg. 241.
See? Swoon!
Sara says
There is so many but I like this one: "Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?"
Josie Baker says
I don't have a specific line, mine is all the emails back and forth between Anna and Etienne. I'm in a long distance relationship so adorable emails always make me happy. =)
Sarah says
"For the two of us, home isn't a place. It's a person. And we're finally home." A perfect ending!! LOVED this book!
Laurie says
My fave exchange from the book. Page 367.
Etienne: Anna?
Anna: Yes?
Etienne: Will you please tell me you love me? I'm dying here.
Laurie says
Ha! Just saw that someone else posted the same lines, before I did. Oh well.
So glad you ladies are working together on submissions. I know they'll get picked up. Can't wait.
Tricia says
Exciting new site! It sure sounds like the sub process is going well, and I continue to cheer for you.
There are just too many good lines. I love this: "His lips are velvet soft, and we kiss until the streetlamps flicker on outside. Until the opera singer begins her evening routine. "I'm going to miss her," I say.
"I'll sing to you." He tucks my stripe behind my ear. "Or I'll take you to the opera. Or I'll fly you back here to visit. Whatever you want. Anythng you want."
Dawn says
Yay!! Congrats, ladies! So excited for the new site!
One of my favorite parts of Anna was:
The room spins around us. His hair is sweaty. My hair is sweaty. I grab him closer and he doesn't protest. I writhe down his body to the beat. When I come up, his eyes are closed, his mouth slightly parted. We match each other thrust to thrust.
The mental picture is etched in my memory *swoon* Thanks for being so kind and offering this giveaway. Take care, ladies!!
xoxo

Hey there! Nice to see that you lovely ladies are up and running. Okay so my favorite Swoony badass at this moment is Tucker Avery, from the Unearthly series. Sigh. He makes me swoon so hard y'all!
Emily says
"We weren't physics partners by accident." Or really just the whole book.
jaime arkin says
Love this quote – but there are tons to choose from!!
"And, suddenly, I want to touch him.
Not a push, or a shove, or even a friendly hug. I want to feel the creases in his skin, connect his freckles with invisible lines, brush my fingers across the inside of his wrist. He shifts. I have the strangest feeling that he’s as aware of me as I am of him. I can’t concentrate.”
Ashley says
I LOVED Anna, she had me swooning for 2 days! I've let all my co-workers borrow her and they all swooned as well!
My fav line, since I need to just pick one, is :"For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home."
Love the website guys. Its gona make stalking a lot easier hee! π
Sara says
Such a pretty blog. I like it. π
And a favorite bit of the book:
"A moment of reserve. "That was it? The whole story?"
"Yes. God, you're right. That was pants."
I sidestep another aggressive couscous vendor. "Pants?"
"Rubbish. Crap. Shite."
Pants. Oh heavens, that's cute."
Katherine says
Yay for a lovely, swoon-filled site π Congrats!
"Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?"
Mieke Z. Mackay says
Just dropping to say Congratulations on going live. The site looks lovely and fun! Good luck!

"If you ask me to kiss you, I will."
That rotten Etienne is too swoon-worthy for his own damned good.

HOW CAN I PICK ONE?
You guys I'm so thrilled to see this giveaway!
His eyes lock on mine. “Anna, I promise that I will never leave you.” My heart pounds in response. And Etienne knows it, because he takes my hand and holds it against his chest, to show me how hard his heart is pounding, too.
SWOONALICIOUS
xxoo annie
Janet says
Congrats on your launch!
I loved when Anna realizes she's fallen hard for St. Clair.
“How can I have been so stupid? How could I have ever for a moment believed I wasn’t in love with him?”
Christina says
One! I have to pick ONE?! M'kay, let's see…
Okay, technically, I suppose I'm cheating, but this part made my heart sigh. I'm cheating because it was more of a conversation & he stole the words, *but* he said them to her.
“I cheated on her every day. In my mind, I thought of you in ways I shouldn’t have, again and again. She was nothing compared to you. I’ve never felt this
way about anybody before—”
“But—”
“The first day of school.” He scoots closer. “We weren’t physics partners by accident. I saw Professeur Wakefield assigning lab partners based on where people were sitting, so I leaned forward to borrow a pencil from you at just the right moment so he’d think we were next to each other. Anna, I
wanted to be your partner the first day.”
“But …” I can’t think straight.
“I bought you love poetry! ‘I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.’” <<< *heartflutter*
I loved Anna & I can't wait to get my greedy little hands on Lola.
Thanks for the giveaway. The site looks fantasticals. I can't wait to hear more about your adventures!
Lots of Puffy Hearts,
Christina (one of the other ones, teehee)
Ashley says
I agree with so many on here it wasn't just a particular line in the book that made me swoon. I just finished this book yesterday and my favorite part is where he tries to run to the top of Notre Dame. He didn't care at that moment about his fear of heights, he just knew he wanted Anna and couldn't go another moment without telling her how he felt about her.
Jennifer C says
Just one?! Eeep!! Ok, ok, here I go:
Page 370
"I'm not most people."
"I smile. 'I know. But you still have to promise.'
His eyes lock on mine. 'Anna, I promise that I will never leave you.'
My heart pounds in response. And Etienne knows it, because he takes my hand and holds it against his chest, to show me how hard his heart is pounding, too.'
Congrats on the new blog and good luck on everything ladies!
Kindlemom1 says
"Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?"
Wendy V says
"I moan with pleasure.
"Did you just have a foodgasm?" he asks, wiping ricotta from his lips.
"Where have you been all my life?" I ask the beautiful panini."
Frankly though everything in Anna and the French Kiss was amazing so it was really hard to pick just one.
M.D says
"I'm saying I'm in love with you! I've been in love with you this whole bleeding year!"
thanks for the contest.
Colette says
"Will you please tell me you love me? I'm dying here."
SOO many more swoony moments, but let's be real.. St. Clair is just the epitome of swoony boy π
FloeticFlo says
OMG. This book. Etienne. Swoon. Full of swoon.
I am going to go with the quote Annie used:
"Anna, I promise that I will never leave you.” My heart pounds in response. And Etienne knows it, because he takes my hand and holds it against his chest, to show me how hard his heart is pounding, too.
Clementine Bojangles says
"I don't want to feel this way around him. I want things to be normal. I want to be his friend, not another stupid girl holding out for something that will never happen."
It sums up my own adolescent experience. Hell, it sums up most of my twenties, too.
Emilie says
“How can I have been so stupid? How could I have ever for a moment believed I wasn’t in love with him?”
I luuurved Anna and the French Kiss, and think that Lola is probably my most anticipated book coming coming out this year.
Jessirae says
I loved Anna and the French Kiss. One of my all time
favorites books. One of my favorite quotes is this:
"You're the most incredible girl I've ever known. You're gorgeous and smart, and you make me laugh like no one else can. And I can talk to you. And I know after all this I don't deserve you, but what I'm trying to say is that I love you, Anna. Very much." -Étienne St. Clair.
I mean, come on. Anything that Étienne says is very very swoon worthy. I love him π
Thanks so much for this giveaway. And congrats on the launch!
Lindsey says
“I cheated on her every day. In my mind, I thought of you in ways I shouldn’t have, again and again. She was nothing compared to you. I’ve never felt this
way about anybody before—”
^^there's more to that part…i see it was listed above. And he's totally swoon-worthy but in the end, with all that build up, he's just–GAH! And then explaining the Neruda *DED*
I love this contest/giveaway!!! WOOT!!
Stephanie says
Super congratulations on your launch! The site looks great. So many great moments in Anna, but what immediately comes to mind is page 367:
—
"Will you please tell me that you love me? I'm dying here."
*insert fabulousness about kissing here*
"And in between kisses, I tell him I love him.
Again and again and again."
—
Very much a "LET ME DIE" (in a good way) moment.
Thanks for the giveaway! π
Doris says
LOVE Anna, she definitely had alot of funny moments with St. Clair. This is one of the ones I liked:
"I'm not British, I'm American."
I smile. "Sure you are."
"I am. You have to be an American to attend SOAP, remember?"
"Soap?"
"School of America in Pairs," he explains. "SOAP"
Nice. My father sent me here to be cleansed.
Thanks for this giveaway & congrats on going live.
Jessica S. says
I love love love the very end- "For the two of us, home isn't a place. It's a person. And we're finally home."
How freaking sweet is that??? Oh, be still my heart π
Holly says
The entire book is full of swoony AMAZING lines!!!
But I guess the one I remember squealing out loud to was:
"If you ask me to kiss you, I will." he says.
His fingers stroke the inside of my wrists, and I burst into flames.
"Kiss me." I say.
He does.
ilpleutjepleure says
This is one of my MANY favorite lines π
"“Did you just have a foodgasm?” he asks, wiping ricotta from his lips.
“Where have you been all my life?” I ask the beautiful panini.
also…I agree wholeheartedly with this one:
"I mean, who needs Christopher when Etienne St. Clair is in the world?"
Congrats on getting your site up and running!
JamieInTheCity says
Bonjour, mes amies! I miss you already.
"Would it be okay if I stayed with you?…" oh St. Clair
π
Leigh Smith says
First of all, I fell hard for this book. I seriously LOVE the name Etienne. I must get a french bulldog and name him Etienne, I love it so much.
My fav line: "I cheated on her every day. In my mind, I thought of you in ways I shouldn’t have, again and again. She was nothing compared to you. I’ve never felt this
way about anybody before”
Also, I freaking love the club scene. Serious swoon.
Congrats on the site. Cannot wait to read LOLA.:)

THIS IS SO EXCITING OHMYGOSH. *bounces up and down*
…
Okay. I'm sorry. I'm trying to control myself. BUT I CAN'T.
…Because not only do I really, really want this book, and this is a SIGNED copy no less, but being giddy is a side affect for me every time I open Anna and the French Kiss. And, of course, I just did in order to try to find a favorite line.
It's impossible to pick one. Seriously. This contest is HARD.
I would say "all of it" is my favorite, but I'm too worried that that won't count, and I'm not taking chances here, so…. Since the whole email-corrispondence-and-phone-talking-during-vacation thing is one of my many, many favorite parts, here's what I chose:
Maybe St. Clair is my new home.
I mull this over as our voices grow tired and we stop talking. We just keep each other company. My breath. His breath. My breath. His breath.
I could never tell him, but it’s true.
This is home. The two of us
So. Amazing. Ahhh.
THANK YOU FOR THE CONTEST :'D now brb, off to reread Anna again! Yayyy!
Ohhh I hope I win <3

Oh my gosh. This is so cool! I ADORED Anna, and can't wait for more of Stephanie's writings π
I loved almost all the smart-alecky lines in the books, but this last line
"For the two of us, home isn’t a place. It’s a person.
And we’re finally home."
echoes my own life and I think this goes right up on my favorite-lines-I've-EVER-read list π
Ruthie says
Awesome site, Ladies! π This book was just a non-stop swoongasm, Loved it! I love all the quotes chose so far. One of my favorite swoons:
"But… Toph is a wanker. You hate him. And Bridgette!" He glances at me. "We still hate Bridgette, right? I haven't missed anything?" I shake my head. "We still hate her."
*sigh* The way he includes himself and says 'We' and goes on to cheer her up.. ADORABLE!
Becci says
The site looks beautiful, loves!!
Anna and Etienne.. I can't even. I still miss them. I'm seriously dying waiting for Lola.
I thought picking a quote would be hard, but in the end, the one line that has stuck with SO much…
"But the only truth I know is what I feel when we're together."
<3
Brooke says
Yay! Thank you for doing this giveway! It's so hard to pick just one line/part but I love this one:
“Mademoiselle Oliphant. It translates to ‘Point zero of the roads of France.’ In other words, it’s the point from which all other distances in France are measured.” St. Clair clears his throat. “It’s the beginning of everything.”
I look back up. He’s smiling.
“Welcome to Paris, Anna. I’m glad you’ve come.”
It makes me squealy every time. Also, the paragraphs and paragraphs about pastry and macarons…I just love this book!
Kirstin says
I loved Anna and cannot wait for Lola!!!
So many great moments and quotes in the book, but my favorite is:
“Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?”
Just Shireen says
So many to pick from! So, I'll have to go with this one on page 310.
He's so beautiful, so perfect. I'm dizzy. My heart pounds, my pulse races. I tilt my face toward his, and he answers with an identical slow tilt toward mine. He closes his eyes. Our lips brush lightly.
"If you ask me to kiss you, I will," he says.
His fingers stroke the inside of my wrists, and I burst into flames.
"Kiss me," I say.
He does.
*SWOON*
Jessi says
I loved all of Anna and Etienne's emails over their break, but if I have to pick just one favorite line, it's this: “For the two of us, home isn’t a place. It’s a person. And we’re finally home.”
Congrats on getting the site going – I love the name Swoontini. I could use one of those right now. π
Amanda says
I just read this book today–in only two sittings! I think I only got up to pee.
There are so many parts (many of which have been mentioned) that just ingratiated themselves into my little heart. But I loved when he touched the bleached part of her hair and said,
"Your hair is perfect."
BC he didn't mean it in terms of styling/polish. I felt like he meant it was a perfect projection of her personality. And in the end, when he kissed her stripe. I loved that. ^_^
Squee!
TwiSherry says
You know I love the site already, but I had to come by and say "Hello". As far as the Anna quote, you know I haven't read this yet cuz I'm tooooo darn slow .. hehehe.
Congrats girls, and much luck to you!!!!!!

These comments are so awesome! I can't wait to re-read Anna and Lola. DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT ETIENNE IS IN LOLA? (of course you did. smarties.)
Lisa says
Okay, this isn't actually a quote from the book, but it was the first moment that I fell in love with Etienne: "Eh-t-yen says my name like this: Ah-na. My heart thump thump thumps in my chest."
Nina says
This is one of my favorite quotes: "The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you." It's so true. Anyway you can read my review on the Website. :}

My body is rigid.
"And I don't mean as a friend."
It feels like I am swallowing my tongue. "Uh. Um. What about-?" I pull my hand away from his. The weight of her name hangs heavy and unspoken.
"It's not right. It hasn't been right, not since I met you."

Loved, loved, loved Anna. Can't wait for LOLA and would love to win an ARC. My fave line is this description of Paris in the spring: "The leaves are bright green with birth, the chestnut trees are clustered with pink buds, and the walkways are lined with lemon yellow tulips." (And hurray for the Oxford comma!)
Daniela says
Favorite Quote:
"'Please. The boy gets a boner every time you walk in the room.' My eyes pop back open. Does she mean that figuratively or has she actually seen something? No. Focus, Anna."
Oh man, This book is so, so good. It was like a breath of fresh air, I mean… I'm so tired of having this great expectations about a book and then having it disappoint me. It's so hard to find books that perfect. I can't wait to read Lola and every other book Stephanie ever writes. I'm praying to win this one.
Please, God. Just this time, let me win something for a change π *cross fingers*

Great site ladies!!!

“For the two of us, home isn’t a place. It’s a person. And we’re finally home.”
Baggins says
If this giveaway is open internationally, please count me in! I can't wait to read Lola! π
My fave quote from Anna is:
"I mean, really. Who sends their kid to boarding school? It's so Hogwarts. Only mine doesn't have cute boy wizards or magic candy or flying lessons."
That cracked me up!
Thanks!
Audrey says
Ahhh why would you do this! Pretty much every line in Anna is just plain awesome, so I'll just choose one of my favourites (my absolute favourite, incidentally, is the very first one on this post with the "i'm dying here" part).. how about a quote from an email?
"I'm teleporting to Atlanta. I'm picking you up, and we'll go someplace where our families can't find us. We'll take Seany. And we'll let him run laps until he tires, and then you and I will take a long walk. Like Thanksgiving. Remember? And we'll talk about everything BUT our parents…or perhaps we won't talk at all. we'll just walk. ANd we'll keep walking until the rest of the world ceases to exist."
St. Clair is the most perfect human being ever.
Karen says
SO many swoonage moments in this book. I seriously can't wait to read Lola…I know it will be just as awesome.
I love this quote because it's so true…even though I know we wish it wasn't…
"Boys turns girls into such idiots."

Cutest:
"Pardon me, but I wonder if you wouldn't mind switching seats. You see, that's my girlfriend there, and she's pregnant. And since she gets a bit ill on airplanes, I thought she might need someone to hold back her hair when…well…" St. Clair holds up the courtesy barf bag and shakes it around.
hearts and butterflies and giggles and swoons
Katie says
Baggins chose my favorite quote! Who doesn't love a good HP reference?!? Besides all of the lovely quotes listed above, one of my favorites is "I wish friends held hands more often, like the children I see on the streets sometimes. I'm not sure why we have to grow up and get embarrassed about it." It's not really swoon-worthy, but I've often thought this in my own life.
Stephanie says
Not a romantic passage, very little St. Clair, but a passage that made me love the book and relate to Anna.
"True to her word, Rashmi pays for my ticket. I take the opportunity to slip out a scrap of paper and a pen that I'd hidden in my jacket for this very purpose. Mer is next in line, and I transcribe her speech phonetically.
Oon ploss see voo play.
St. Clair leans over my shoulder and whispers. 'You've spelled it wrong.'"
From one movie nerd to another, I knew that this book was for me after she did that. Plus, the movie is It Happened One Night; cannot it not be more perfect. Love how then she gets nervous going to the movies by herself for the first time, later in the book.
Just love this book and Perkins and cannot wait to read Lola!
Chen Chang says
I love ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS and I so want LOLA!! One of my favorite quotes is when St.Clair declares his love for Anna!
